Monitoring the misuse of state resources – The Commissioner meets with representatives of the “Civic Center”

The State Election Commissioner, Mr. Ilirjan Celibashi, held a meeting today with representatives of the Civic Resistance to discuss in detail the challenges and best practices in monitoring the use of state resources during electoral processes. During this meeting, a number of key issues related to the identification, prevention and addressing of potential violations involving state resources were addressed, in order to guarantee a fair and transparent electoral process.

They discussed increasing the effectiveness of reporting cases of abuse to strengthen administrative investigation mechanisms against public institutions. They also emphasized the importance of close and sustainable cooperation with civil society actors, appreciating their role as important partners in protecting the integrity of electoral processes.

Representatives of Civic Resistance shared their findings from monitoring previous elections, emphasizing the need for broader public awareness on reporting abuses and for developing institutional capacities to address these cases swiftly and effectively. They also proposed some concrete ideas for improving transparency and accountability in the use of state resources during elections.
